Wayne von Borstel achieved a wealth of success in business and leadership through his dedication, effort, and tenacity. .
Mr. von Borstel is currently the President and founder for von Borstel & Associates, a company dedicated to supporting and growing its clients’ companies. He has a great deal of experience in high-level executive roles for several companies and was voted Businessman of the Year by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Wayne Robert von Borstel was born in 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. He has one sister, Christine, who is two years younger than he is.
In 1956, Mr. Robert von Borstel moved his family to Hobart, Indiana where he purchased a small screw company that manufactured screws for furniture manufacturers and a design technology company that focused on state-of-the-art furniture manufacturing equipment.
In the 1960’s, Mr. von Borstel received a degree in engineering from DePauw University and later received his MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Mr. von Borstel spent his life breaking away from his father’s successful operation to create a very successful consulting firm that delivers customized solutions.
Mr. von Borstel married his wife, Lisa, in 1982. They have two children, Nicholas and Allison.
In the 1980s, Mr. Robert von Borstel sold his company which was then worth over $20 million to a Fortune 500 company in a stock transaction. He received $2 million from the sale of his company. Later on, while working at The Morrison Knudsen Corporation in Idaho, he would mentor Wayne and teach him the art of business finance and leadership skills through long walks around Boise State University’s campus.
