Gino Pozzo is not the kind of man who likes to take no for an answer. When Gino Pozzo was told that buying the Watford Football Club team was a bad investment, he naturally rebelled. He did not appreciate being told that the team was a loser. After all, it was true that Watford was on the brink of relegation. However, Pozzo saw something in it that he really liked.
As it turns out, there was a method to the seeming madness. Not many people at the time were aware of the history that Gino Pozzo embodied. It all began back in his native land of Italy. This was the place where several of the relatives on his mother’s side had been high officers for the Udinese team. Pozzo had grown up a major fan of the sport.
Of course, this was during the time when work was scarce in his native city. Gino Pozzo was forced to reside abroad in order to procure the education he craved. As a result of this sacrifice, he was able to conquer the world of business. But even as he did so, he remembered the promise he had made to his hometown team.
It was a result of this promise that Gino Pozzo returned to Italy. Once there, his first move was to buy the Udinese team. After he did so, he managed to restore its fortunes. It soon became a major force to be reckoned with. But soon after, Pozzo realized he needed a new challenge.
Gino Pozzo thus made the fateful decision to relocate to the U.K. It was here that he bought a team called Watford FC. Like the Udinese team, it had seen better days. But once again, the instincts of Pozzo as an owner changed the team into a major player.
