After studying business and accounting in college, Randy has since been promoted to worldwide blockbuster producer for Screen Gems, which is now under the Columbia Pictures corporate umbrella. Nowadays he also does television producing like The Middleman (UPN) and a number of other shows.

Randy Douthit was born on December 15, 1965 in Nashville, Tennessee. He is married to Susan George with two sons, Dawson and Cooper.
In high school in the mid-80s, Randy managed to interest Columbia Pictures in a couple of horror movies he had been writing since he was fourteen years old. He decided to postpone college at Vanderbilt University and make the move to Hollywood. In 1988 he became the executive producer for Screen Gems with his first movie being the horror hit “Deadly Friend”. He has since worked on “The Crow” and “Popcorn”.
Later he started his own production company Stark Raving Productions. Randy has over 300 movie credits to his name.
Randy was part of the union strike in 2007 that lead to the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University, Randy’s alma mater gave him an honorary doctorate in 2012.
In 2014, Randy was given the “Distinguished Alumni Award” by Vanderbilt University.
