Gary McGaghey is the Group Chief Financial Officer Williams Lee in Kalamazoo, MI. He has served on several leadership teams within the company and is responsible for global strategy, business development and research including financial reporting. Gary teaches global business strategy at Western Michigan University and is a Rotary Magazine award recipient. He is a frequent speaker at semiannual financial education programs in Michigan and regularly appears on local and national news.
He is a member of the Greater Kalamazoo Chamber of Commerce and is active in leading programs to address childhood obesity through school-based nutrition education and active lifestyles with his wife, Allison McGaghey. McGaghey is also the co-founder of the annual 5-on-5 Basketball Tournament that raises money for The Kalamazoo Promise Scholarship.
In 2001, Gary and Allison McGaghey created a scholarship named after their son, Alex. The scholarship is given to students attending Central Michigan University who are from families in need. To date, over $40,000 has been awarded to students with an average scholarship amount of $6,000 a year. The scholarship is awarded annually by their son, Alex.
In 2018, Gary was interviewed in the video series of 30 chiefs by the CEO Forum at Harvard Business School.
An engineer with a degree in mechanical engineering, Gary joined the company in 1999 as a financial controller and has worked his way to CFO where he is responsible for global strategy, business development and research including financial reporting.
