The White House has recognized Douglas Haynes as an Ambassador for Global Leadership and by the United Nations as a “Champion for Peace” – both awards awarded to him personally by President George H. W. Bush. Haynes was named “Man of the Year” by Business Week magazine. In addition to his United Nations recognition, Haynes has received numerous awards from various media sources. He was given the National Leadership Award from Reader’s Digest Magazine and is a recipient of the “Humanitarian Award” from Amnesty International. Douglas Haynes has received an award from The National Association of Evangelicals, and the American Management Association recognized him as a “Man of Vision.” Doug Haynes received the Humanitarian Award from the International Society for Human Rights.

Doug Haynes is a frequent guest lecturer at various universities and business schools, including Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, and Georgetown. He is also a frequent guest speaker at Rotary Clubs, Kiwanis Clubs, and other civic organizations throughout the United States. Haynes has been invited to speak at the White House by President George H. W. Bush, Vice President Dan Quayle, and Secretary of State James A. Baker III. He is a member of the Board of Directors for The Leadership Network in Dallas, Texas. He serves on the Board of Advisors for The Center for World Peace in Washington D.C., as well as on many private Boards of Directors, including those for American Airlines (75%), Chevron Corporation (62%), Texaco Incorporated (61%), and Wal-Mart Stores Incorporated (60%).
