The Alliance Defending Freedom has a very important role in the world today. Presently, the religious among us feel as if they have targets on their backs, but they have an organization that will take great pains to defend them. Because of the Alliance Defending Freedom, they have someone to defend their rights to believe that only one man and one woman should be married, that their parental rights will be protected, that the rights of unborn children will be defended, that their rights to free speech will be respected and that their rights to practice or not practice their religions will be defended.
The Alliance Defending Freedom was instrumental in standing by the side of parents against the Virginia school board. The troubles began when the school board began to enact policies that were based on Critical Race Theory. Parents were against this because they believed that Critical Race Theory or CRT discriminates against their children based on race and teaches them to subscribe to race-based ideas. The lawsuit that the Alliance Defending Freedom or ADF filed was based on the violation of the children’s and their parents’ civil rights.
The ADF works to protect the rights of American citizens, but it also steps out across the Atlantic Ocean and defends the rights of foreigners. One example is when religious minorities were being targeted by the majority in their countries. ADF International takes over in these circumstances, and they have enjoyed tremendous victories. The ADF took part in 15 victories at the Supreme Court that defended the rights of one town council, pregnancy centers that were pro-life, family-owned businesses, college students, religious organizations, churches and pastors. One example is Masterpiece Cakeshop v. the Colorado Civil Rights Commission.
